1) NO POLITICS, NO SPAM, NO ADS (This includes links to your crappy ass community), NO PERSONAL ATTACKS, NO DISRESPECT:
We have a two strikes rule. You'll get one warning. Second time, you're gone. This is supposed to be a helpful community, and really, why waste time on someone who can't follow rules.
2) No arguing with the Mods or Maintainers.:
This falls under being disruptive, as it is off topic and not relevant to the purpose of this community. If you have a problem with a Mod or Maintainer decision, choice, whatever, contact insolentmuse, this group's maintainer by clicking here
3)Keep It Free
We all know what FREE means, right kids? No exchange of items or money is allowed, aside from POSTAGE which is between you and the person you are freecycling an item with.
4)It Is Better To Give, Than To Receive:
Not to say that you can't post WANTED posts, because you can. However the entire point of this is for people to OFFER up things they no longer want. So please don't spam the community with a crapload of WANTEDS. And keep in mind that if all you ever post are WANTEDS, you're less likely to get chosen when expressing interest in someone else's offers. Nobody likes the greedy :p
Multiple Items = Seperate posts, unless you're giving them all away TOGETHER as one "Unit".
6)Post your WANT or OFFER once
Do not make multiple posts for the same offer or request. Your post will remain on the community until it is satisfied, or you remove it.
7)Transfer of Items
The decision of who gets the item is
up to the person who made the OFFER.
There is no obligation for the person to choose
the first respondent or determine who gets
the item based on any criteria whatsoever. The items are theirs, and therefore are completely free to choose who they ultimately give their items to no matter what.
The item belongs to the person making
the OFFER until the item is transferred to
its new owner.
The pickup or mailing arrangements are between the
person making the OFFER ("Offerer") and the
person to whom the Offerer has decided to
give the item(s).
You may transfer pets via this community ONLY if the transfer will be made in person. This community does not participate in the mailing of Live Animals.
PROHIBITED or RESTRICTED ITEMS
(1) NO DRUGS or DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Please note that no drugs requiring a
prescription may be posted here as an OFFER
or as a WANTED request. Likewise, prescription
drug paraphernalia (such as needles) may
NOT be offered or requested here.
(2) NO PORNOGRAPHY or "ADULT" / PORNOGRAPHIC
(3) NO ALCOHOL
(4) NO TOBACCO or TOBACCO-RELATED
PRODUCTS or SUPPLIES
(5) NO FIREARMS, WEAPONS or related supplies
(6) NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
(7) CARSEATS offered MUST BE NO OLDER THAN THREE (3) YEARS OLD, and posts that offer carseats *must* include
the date of manufacture stamped on the carseat.
Carseats WITHOUT INSTRUCTION MANUALS
may not be offered, no matter how old or new
the carseat is. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Many people may not be aware that there is a
five (5) year limit on the use of carseats.
In an effort to keep them out of the landfill, people
often want to pass them on, particularly when
they still appear to be in good condition.
However, plastic gets old and may not hold up in
an accident. Every carseat has a date of manufacture
printed on it somewhere. (This date must be included
in OFFER posts for carseats, as stated above.)
Carseats shouldn't be passed on without the manual
even if they are newer than 3 years. Each carseat is
different and has different ways it needs to be installed.
The instruction manual is supposed to be read before
using any new carseat. This rule is for the safety of the
children who will be using them.
